Biography

Dasha, a 23-year-old artist and songwriter, has rapidly ascended as an upcoming artist to watch, and closely. Her 2021 EP, 'Shiny Things,' captivated a devoted TikTok fanbase, paving the way for her eagerly anticipated debut album, 'Dirty Blonde,' which was released in early 2023. The album's preceding eight singles, released over the past year, achieved millions of streams and secured placements on prominent editorial playlists such as Spotify's Night Pop, Chill Pop, Soda, NMF Belgium, and Apple Music's Acoustic Summer and Breaking Singer/Songwriter.

Dasha's music is characterized by its authenticity, raw emotion, and relatability, mirroring her genuine self-expression. For her upcoming phase, Dasha is returning to her musical roots, harkening back to her upbringing in San Luis Obispo, California, where she was immersed in the world of country, folk, and Americana music from an early age. Her passion for storytelling, ignited by music theatre, and dance, evolved when she began playing the guitar and piano at the age of eight, when she started writing songs in the back of her school notebooks during class.

She attended Belmont University's songwriting program from 2018 to 2021, equipping herself with the skills to craft commercially exceptional songs. As she’s humorously explained in interviews, "I got my ass kicked on how to write a commercially incredible song. I learned all the rules and tricks so now I know how best to break them". This newfound authenticity in her music has led Dasha to a place where her artistry truly thrives, marking a significant turning point in her career.

Songwriting Cuts

While splitting her time between LA and Nashville for the past three years, Dasha has collaborated with various producers and writers including The Gifted (Kygo, Tate McRae), Ayokay, Pink Slip, Inverness, Taska Black, Elijah Hill, Nick Lopez, Sam Sumser (Lizzo), The Nicholas (San Holo, Golden Vessel), Lauren Spencer-Smith, Nickolas Wheeler (All American Rejects), and Bardo (Beauty School Dropout). Dasha's songwriting skills have led to her being sought after by other artists in the industry, writing for other artist’s projects such as Loren Gray’s 2023 debut album, where she helped write eight out of the ten tracks. She also has upcoming and recent cuts with Ayokay, Beauty School Dropout, Jules Paymer, Taylor Bickett, ANDI, and more.

For her new era and next album, Dasha is pivoting back into country/ folk, where she originally developed her love for songwriting and music. She is in sessions every day, both in Nashville and LA, writing for her next album while creatively cultivating what this new era will look like for her.

As Dasha heads into this new chapter, she recently joined, VERSION III, an artist development company known for its innovative and genre-agnostic approach. Their mission is to provide artists with a platform to achieve their maximum potential, with a strong emphasis on transparency and flexibility. Their mission aligns perfectly with Dasha's vision, making it a natural fit for the next chapter in her career. With this partnership, Dasha is ready to take on the Country scene.
